With only three more days to go, we are all getting very excited for the big Arca West race this weekend. Since Auto Clearing Motor Speedway opened in the Spring of 2006 we have had great success in Arca West/Newalta races. Over the last three years there has been five of these races and the #70 has won three of them and has only been out of the top five once. We have been working diligently on getting the car fixed up after the fiasco we had in the season opener. The car isn't going to look as good esthetically as it did on opening day, but it will definitely be fast. Qualifying starts at 5:00pm and racing starts at 6:00pm. We hope to see you all there.

Well we definitely had a better outing to the track this past weekend. We started out a little slow qualifying 6th overall, but progressively got better as the evening went on. In the heat race we didn't do as good as we hoped but got a fourth place. By the time the feature came around we had it pretty much figured out. As the first 60 lap segment started we slowly started working our way to the front pulling out a third place finish. So for the second 60 lap segment we had to start at the back with an total invert of the field. It was a little dicey getting around some the slower cars in front of us but once the dust settled we were in third and held that spot till about 10 laps to go. Trent put on a late surge to pass the 94 car and hold down the second spot, with Dan Shirley finishing in first. We've got some exciting news to report. Rob Howlett, crew chief of the R&D Racing #46 Co-op Grand Prix has asked Trent to pilot there #22x car for tomorrow night's Siemens West Cascar season opener. The #22x car was formerly the #64 of Chris Shirley's that won the Cascar Sportsman Championship back in 2005. Qualifying is at 5:30 and racing starts at 6:00. We hope to see you all out there. Well Friday was quite the evening to say the least. The night started off great with an awesome qualifying run, earning top spot with a 14.588. The first heat race went pretty good with us getting a second place finish, and with a couple more laps we would of definitely had 1st spot. The second heat race was not as good, getting spun by the 5 car in the late going left us with a 7th place finish. For the feature we started at the back because of the field being inverted from qualifying. It started off good making it past the majority of the field in a short amount of time. Then while running in second, we got a pretty viscous shot from the 77 car around lap 20 that did quite a bit of damage to the left hand side of the car. Then around lap 35 we had a run in with the back straight wall that ended the night for us leaving us with a 7th place finish. Our 2009 season kicks off this Friday at 7:00 pm at Auto Clearing Motor Speedway, and we are ready to go. We are just laying the last few decals on the car and we'll be heading to the track Friday afternoon. We had the Late Model out for practice on Tuesday night and were very impressed with how the car worked. Our times were definitely better than this time last year and we are very happy with our upgrades in the off season. We finished the season on a high note and we hope to keep that rolling into Friday night. Hope to see you all there. The off season has been a long one, but we had a great finish to the 2008 season so we had alot to be happy about. This off season has been quite intense in the last 4 months with the addition of our newest acquisition of the 33 truck of the Super Truck Racing Series based out of Alberta. We stripped the Late Model down and refit a new body on it in January, then went to Wainright to pick up the 33 truck. The team was very excited to tackle the new project. Shortly after acquiring it we had it stripped down to the frame and started to build it back up. With never really working with these trucks we had some snags along the way but just kept plugging away. |
